Abstract Details
We welcome short oral presentations and posters describing the activity of well-defined chemical compounds for the treatment of viral diseases of humans and vertebrate animals and on the protective activity of vaccines for humans. Reports of the antiviral effect of a novel small-molecule drug are encouraged to include chemical structures, as long as such reporting does not negatively impact the potential development of novel antivirals. Claims of in vitro or in vivo efficacy of a drug or vaccine must be supported by appropriate statistical analysis. We discourage the submission of abstracts reporting the antiviral activity of unpurified natural products, or of partially purified substances. Abstracts claiming an antiviral effect of homeopathic products or other highly diluted preparations, or which fail to clearly identify the biological ingredient or molecule responsible for the antiviral activity of an experimental therapy, will be rejected. Presentations on antiseptics with broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity will not be considered. We also discourage talks or posters on silicodocking studies or other computer-based predictions of antiviral activity that are not supported by data from biological assays.
Submission tracks:
What is the difference between a virtual poster and onsite poster?
Abstract title is limited to 250 characters. Abstract body is limited to 1700 characters to include spacing. The system will automatically impose these restrictions when you enter your abstract.
During the submission process you will be able to indicate your interest in participating in the Poster Awards Competition, PechaKucha Competition and Travel Awards.
A regular feature of ICAR is the judging of posters by a designated committee and the award of cash prizes. For your poster to be entered in the competition, you must indicate your interest during the abstract submission process, following the instructions below:
- Login to the submission site to start your abstract submission.
- When asked if you would like to be considered for a Poster Award, select "Yes”.
- Answer the subsequent questions.
- Further details will be provided after abstract acceptance notifications have been sent. Please note that you will be required to submit an electronic poster by April 26, 2024.
- Anyone who is selected for an oral presentation, but would like to also compete for a Poster Award, should notify ICAR Staff and prepare a poster to present at the meeting.
