Submit Abstract

Abstract Details

We welcome short oral presentations and posters describing the activity of well-defined chemical compounds for the treatment of viral diseases of humans and vertebrate animals and on the protective activity of vaccines for humans. Reports of the antiviral effect of a novel small-molecule drug must reveal its chemical structure. Claims of in vitro or in vivo efficacy of a drug or vaccine must be supported by appropriate statistical analysis.  We discourage the submission of abstracts reporting the antiviral activity of unpurified natural products, or of partially purified substances.  Abstracts claiming an antiviral effect of homeopathic products or other highly diluted preparations, or which fail to clearly identify the biological ingredient or molecule responsible for the antiviral activity of an experimental therapy, will be rejected.  Presentations on antiseptics with broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity will not be considered.  We also discourage talks or posters on silicodocking studies or other computer-based predictions of antiviral activity that are not supported by data from biological assays.

ATTENTION ICAR2020 ACCEPTED AUTHORS: Given that accepted abstracts for ICAR2020 did not have a chance to be presented, an updated version of that abstract can be submitted exceptionally this year and still be considered for an oral presentation for ICAR2021.

Important Notice about Presentation Format for ICAR2021

As ICAR2021 is a Virtual Conference, all accepted presenters (oral and posters) will be required to submit their prerecorded video presentations and/or electronic posters prior to the Conference by February 19, 2021.  Additional details about presentation format will be posted at a later time.

Submission Process

  • If you accessed the submission site for ICAR2020, you can login with the same User ID and Password used previously.
  • Abstracts must be submitted online and will not be accepted in any other manner.
  • Abstract title is limited to 250 characters.  Abstract body is limited to 250 words. The system will automatically impose these restrictions when you enter your abstract.

  • During the submission process you will be able to indicate your interest in participating in the Poster Awards Competition and/or PechaKucha Competition.
  • If you would like to give an oral presentation or compete in the PechaKucha Competition, you must submit an abstract by the December 4th deadline.
  • Oral presentations will be selected only from the initial submission period, which ends on December 4th.  The site will then reopen on December 9th and remain open through January 25, 2021, but acceptance during this period will only be for poster presentations.

    Poster Awards Competition Submission Details

    2. When asked if you would like to be considered for a Poster Award, select "Yes”.
