The Society’s main annual event, the International Conference on Antiviral Research (ICAR), is a truly interdisciplinary meeting which attracts the interest of chemists, biologists, and clinicians.
At ICAR, scientists working throughout the world in the areas of basic, applied, and clinical research meet in a collaborative and collegial atmosphere to review recent developments in all areas of antiviral drug discovery and development. Most importantly, ICAR will provide a variety of networking opportunities to allow members to reconnect with old friends and colleagues and establish new scientific relationships with leaders in the antiviral field.
ICAR2020 VIRTUAL MEETING UPDATE
Thank you for your patience as the International Society of Antiviral Board of Directors has been working to come up with an alternative to the originally planned ICAR2020 that was to take place in Seattle. It has been decided that the virtual meeting will be comprised of weekly webinars that feature invited speakers from the originally planned Seattle conference – internationally recognized experts who will address recent developments in all areas of antiviral drug discovery and development.
The webinars will take place this fall from September-December 2020 and will be free-of-charge to all ISAR members. So, to ensure you receive information about the fall webinars, make sure your membership is up to date and encourage your colleagues who are interested in participating in the webinars to join ISAR. ISAR membership details can be found at https://isaricar.wildapricot.org/Join-us.
Additional details on the timing and streaming of the webinars will be released as soon as they are available.
Thank you for your continued support of ISAR.
NOTICE FROM ISAR
Many of our Society members and speakers are working tirelessly to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, whether it be in drug discovery, vaccine development, clinical care, policy development or other activities. Additionally, all of us are working to respond to changes in our personal lives. With all of the ongoing demands on our efforts and expertise, we realize that though exchange of research and new ideas that comes with a conference is very important, the priority right now needs to be on COVID-19 response. We have therefore decided to postpone the virtual ICAR2020 until late summer or early fall. The date will be decided by the ISAR Board of Directors, based on their assessment of the situation and the timing of other major conferences. Paid registration will carry forward to the rescheduled meeting. You will be informed of any new developments.
We hope that you and your family remain safe and that you are able to work productively during this challenging time.
